• Why this blog has been dead

I just set up my beloved with a WordPress install on my server (I’ll add a link when she decides to announce it) and it’s made me miss posting.

The problem is my life is pretty boring. I work, talk to my darling, and sleep. Thanks to my work schedule I don’t even have time to go out and play with my camera. In addition, writing doesn’t come naturally or easy for me. Even if I have something to say it takes me so long to beat it into something readable that I no longer care about it.

That being said I still miss it. Even though practically no one reads this (and I don’t blame them) it was nice to have a place to just post my thoughts. I have twitter and facebook but neither lend themselves to posting more than a sound bite. I’m not going to promise that I’m going to post more but I’m going to try, even if they’re short posts or barely coherent ramblings. At least it’s an outlet. One thing that will help is I found a pretty good WordPress client for my new phone (the phone will get its own post eventually) so I can compose a post no matter where I am.

  • Sorry it’s been dead here

I just haven’t had much to say as of late and what little I have had has been said on Jaiku. I do have a few things that could turn into posts bouncing around in the back of my mind. I just need to try to turn them into something postable.

  • Why I blog

Someone on Jaiku asked why people blog. Before he asked I never really thought about why I do it. I know others do it to talk about their passions (computers, politics, religion, etc) but for my blog doesn’t have a theme like that. This blog mainly exists so I have a place to ramble, to put my thoughts down somewhere and allow my friends to keep up to date on my goings on. Some would say that a blog like this is all about ego-stroking, and I guess at one level that’s fair, but in truth I really don’t care if anyone reads this. My friends and the public in general are welcome to read what I write but it matters little to me if I get one hit a month or a thousand. That being said anyone reading this is welcome to stick around.

  • Blog reset, take 2

    Hello all.

Yea, I know I just did a blog reset a couple of months ago so why the hell am I doing another right now? Well, I just moved from self hosting to a third party host and instead of trying to get everything, including the database dumps working on the new host I decided to start over (again). And, seeing as I only made a couple of posts on the previous incarnation of this blog I’m not loosing much.

About blog accounts: I have bad news and good news. The bad news is that you’ll have to recreate your accounts yet again. The good news is that because I’ve got a real host this time I don’t have to manually activate each account. You folks can do that yourself. I just need to approve your first post (to stop spam).

Todo: I still need to set up my sidebar, fix my about page, and actually start using this. I’d also like to figure out a secure way to post via my BlackBerry
